The Bustronome : gourmet tours through the streets of Paris
Sightseeing in Paris on a bus restaurant: An offbeat way of exploring the city whilst tucking into some good food!
Throughout the year, the Bustronome offers gourmet tours through Paris combining sightseeing with a gastronomic meal. Comfortably seated aboard a double-decker bus with a glass roof, guests at this unusual restaurant set off to discover Parisian districts, squares and monuments on a tour that is a feast for the taste buds and the eyes.
An atypical gastronomic restaurant
Under the aegis of chef Sébastien Nicolleau the Bustronome offers gourmet cooking. The restaurant menu, which changes every three months, features fresh seasonal produce. Cooked entirely onsite, the six dishes in the evening – or four at lunchtime – are the opportunity to discover quality cooking in an original atmosphere.
As for the service, everything has been thought of so that guests enjoy a culinary experience without risks: the bus travels at a regular and slow speed (less than 30 km/h), the waiters are experienced, glasses and plates are secured on the table by a perfected wedge system …There is therefore little to fear from vibrations linked to the road surface or from any inevitable little jolts during the journey!
A full visit of Paris
Boasting a 360°panoramic terrace on its upper deck, the Bustronome offers an exceptional view throughout the itinerary. An audio-guide pen can be used to point to a map for those who would like to follow the tour in more detail (eight languages: French, English, Spanish, German, Italian, Russian, Chinese, and Japanese).
The meeting point for sightseeing foodie guests is at the Place de l’Etoile, from where they will be taken ‘for starters’ to the Eiffel Tower district. The menu begins in style in a dream setting: the gardens of the esplanade of Trocadéro, the Eiffel Tower and the Champ de Mars gardens. The bus then travels along the embankment of the Seine, past the finest monuments in Paris, including Invalides, the Musée d’Orsay, the Musée du Louvre, Notre-Dame, Place Saint-Michel and the Hôtel de Ville (Paris City Hall). For ‘dessert’, guests are invited to contemplate the Palais Garnier Opera House, the Madeleine, Place de la Concorde … then the finale! The bus drives along the world’s most beautiful avenue: the Champs-Elysées, past architectural gems – the Petit Palais and the Grand Palais –, Haussmanian facades, lively scenes, and luxury boutiques. A beautiful way to end an unforgettable 2hr45 min tour. (2hr15 min for lunch).
Paris by night aboard the Bustronome
For an even more magical spectacle, choose the dinner menu! Comfortably seated in one of the armchairs on the upper deck, let yourself be captivated by Paris by night and the illuminated monuments that parade before your eyes through the glass roof. With a bit of luck, you'll even see the Eiffel Tower sparkle as you pass by!
