Where to eat ice cream in Paris

When the sun is shining, there is nothing like an ice cream.

A hot spell in Paris! In sunny weather, there is nothing like a refreshing ice-cream treat. Here’s a small selection of the ‘cream’ of Parisian ice-cream makers. Divine flavours, innovative textures, inspired recipes ... difficult to resist!

Cornet de glace fraise vanille

Founded in 1947, Raimo is the oldest ice-cream maker in the capital. À la carte, delicious traditional recipes, as well as the most atypical flavours like the famous lemon-basil flavour.
The famous Berthillon ice-cream maker opened on the Left Bank in 1954. You are spoilt for choice among the incredible number of flavours. Try the vanilla ice cream (the recipe has been kept top secret for generations!), which has attracted gourmets from around the world.

In Rue du Bac, the Bac à glaces offers a range of traditional ice cream: some 50 flavours in all, made in a traditional way with no chemical colourings and produced exclusively from natural products and good-quality pieces of fruit. The icing on the cake: healthy sorbets so that you can indulge without feeling guilty!

Ice-cream maker Martine Lambert’s particularity is ice cream made from milk products from Normandy, which have a special creaminess ...

If you are looking for something exotic, head to La Tropicale Glacier for ice creams tinged with exoticism, and delicious spices. Let your taste buds travel with some of their top specialities like ‘yuzu with Espelette peppers’ or ‘caramel ginger’.

For a taste of la dolce vita, nothing beats Italian gelati, renowned for its creaminess. Go to Grom to taste their very creamy (and very healthy!) ice creams made exclusively from quality and guaranteed gluten-free products, like at California Bliss with their fat-free Frozen Yoghurts. Another good address is Pozzetto, which makes flavoursome products, including the fantastic ‘Gianduia Torinese’, a specialty with chocolate and hazelnuts from Piedmont.

The fashionable Glaces Glazed introduces you to creations with completely frosted flavours and highly original names. Their star product: ‘Pump Up the Volume’, a mango sorbet with Espelette peppers. And for an original ice-cream treat, try Hugo & Victor’s  strawberry sorbet with lemon zests: one of the house's flagship creations ranked among the best ice creams in Paris by Time Out magazine!
