The fine arts occupy a prominent place in Parisian museums. Paintings, sculptures, drawings, photographs, decorative art objects ... from all periods and genres feature in the collections and exhibitions at cultural venues in Paris.

Some not-to-be-missed masterpieces: The Louvre’s trio of treasures (The Mona Lisa, The Venus de Milo and The Winged Victory of Samothrace), Impressionist paintings at the Musée d'Orsay, the Musée de l'Orangerie and the Musée Marmottan Monet, the collection of artworks at the Musée Jacquemart-André, exceptional art objects at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs, and the rooms and textile creations at the Palais Galliera...  Art lovers are in for a treat!

Several of the capital’s museums devote their exhibition spaces to the work of a single artist. A wonderful opportunity to plunge into the artistic world of great masters like Auguste Rodin, Antoine Bourdelle, Eugène Delacroix, Gustave Moreau or Pablo Picasso.

Photography too is widely shown! Photographic works are exhibited in several museums in the capital such as the Musée d’Orsay or the Jeu de Paume, and it is showcased at the Maison Européenne de la Photographie, the fondation Henri Cartier Bresson, the Maison de la Photographie Robert Doisneau and the Musée Français de la Photographie, all of which are entirely devoted to this discipline.
