Kissing in the park
Paris boasts a wealth of green spaces – ideal places to steal a kiss away from prying eyes!

Secret gardens, hidden leafy squares or romantic parks, it’s up to you to choose your favourite place to whisper sweet nothings and exchange tender kisses with your beloved…
To follow tradition, head for the city-centre Tuileries Gardens, Paris’s oldest public park and a magnificent example of a French formal garden. Formerly, the Tuileries Gardens were a prime location for libertine behaviour. The wide pathways were once the theatre for love and games of chance. These days you’re more likely to see couples crunching toffee apples at the funfair here in summer.
On the Left Bank, woo your lover in a more ‘classical’ style in the Luxembourg Gardens, a haven of greenery in the heart of Paris. The perfect place to wander arm-in-arm along the shady pathways admiring the magnificent statues… The ideal spot for a kiss? In front of the famous Medici fountain!
For a passionate encounter, head for the Parc des Buttes-Chaumont, in the 19th arrondissement. This enchanting setting is popular with lovebirds: an old railway line, a suspension bridge, a grotto, a waterfall… What more could you wish for?
For whispering sweet nothings, the Jardin de Rohan and the Jardin de Fontenay at the National Archives are favourite spots with lovebirds. These restored locations have the atmosphere of a romantic 19th-century garden with umbrella pine trees, gloriettes and topiary. When the weather is really cold, it is cosy to soak up the tropical atmosphere of the Serres d’Auteuil or the greenhouses at the Jardin des plantes.
Every park has its own style and ambiance: floral for the Parc de Bagatelle, classical for the Parc Monceau, refined in the gardens of the Musée de la Vie Romantique and tropical in the big glasshouses of the Jardin des Plantes… Take your pick!
