Tourist attractions such as Montmartre, the Eiffel Tower, the Montparnasse Tower and its restaurant The Ciel de Paris, the Tours de Notre-Dame (closed to the public until further notice), the Sacré-Cœur, the Fondation Louis-Vuitton or the Ballon Generali at the Parc André-Citroën are well-known for offering breathtaking views of Paris. For fans of spectacular views and people who would like to know the best places with a view, here is a choice selection that will give you another perspective on Paris … Wonderful surprises in view!

Of course, there are the latest hip rooftop addresses: the Perchoir with a second address on the roof of the BHV Marais, the W at the Hôtel Warwick Champs-Elyséesthe Georges at Beaubourg, Communion and the Wanderlust at Les Docks … from where the view is suberb.

But less-well-known spots are also well worth visiting, and finding a seat might be easier! Sometimes this may be a simple street corner or an elevated little public garden or park - Parc des Buttes Chaumont, parc de Belleville - with an unobstructed view offering a different perspective of the Paris skyline. A unique panorama guaranteed and a source of pleasure that no fan of Paris should miss out on.

Already a landmark! Reopened in 2013, Le Louxor cinema, with its quality cinema programme, is a great hit with film buffs in the north of Paris. From its equally popular terrace bar, the Barbès district can be seen from another angle, with Sacré-Coeur in the background.

La butte Bergeyre
Montmartre is not the only place from which to look out over Paris! Near to Buttes-Chaumont, a few tiny residential streets cling to a hillside from which there is a dramatic and original view of Paris. There are even grape vines here but very few tourists!
