Paris puts you on tip top form. Here’s how in 20 great ideas!

Parks and gardens, markets, restaurants, shows … Our round-up of energizing outings in Paris.

Paris is a party! More than any other capital, it buzzes with positive and creative energy. Going out, walking around the city, strolling along the Seine quaysides, enjoying the best bars, restaurants, concert halls … there are so many ways of soaking up the vitality of Paris.

Here are 20 ideas for things to do that will boost your spirits!

Paris, energy outdoors

Paris loves pedestrians and pedestrians love Paris! The best way to explore the heart of the capital is to wander through old districts, like the Marais, the île de la Cité or the Latin Quarter. Along the Seine, the quaysides (many of which have become pedestrianized) are the perfect place to stroll, daytime or evening and during the summer months there is a whole raft of fun activities and entertainment for all, between Alma and Concorde. And it goes without saying that the views are breathtaking! In the 12th, the bucolic and tranquilCoulée verte René-Dumont (Promenade Plantée) crosses the entire arrondissement. You can even continue as far as the Bois de Vincennes if you like!

Parisian markets are also part of the charm of Paris with their lively atmosphere and character which vary from one district to the next: we especially like the marché d’Aligre for its friendly vibe, but don’t miss the market at market of Batignolles (organic), the one at Belleville (cosmopolitan) or the one at Saxe-Breteuil with its view of the Eiffel tower.

Why not get some exercise and discover Paris at the same time? Conquer Your Day is a free ‘open boot camp’ that offers group sessions with a coach on four evenings per week. Choose from: Montmartre, Monceau, Opéra and Odéon. The group, encouragement, and the energy of the coaches will certainly give you an invigorating boost!

Places that will raise your spirits and broaden your mind

Take an invigorating break during the day by opting for one of the new energizing concept bars, like Yello’s, which has an organic menu, a zen space, and which uses light therapy. You can also try Ma Cocotte, a new restaurant in the ever-lively setting of the Puces de Saint-Ouen (flea market).

Le 104 / Cent Quatre - Musée Paris - Nef curial

With the family? Go and visit 104, the most comprehensive centre for art and other activities in Paris, with a rich programme of events for all ages. As for the REcyclerie, at Porte de Clignancourt, it is a conference centre, a cafe, repair workshops, second-hand shops, a shared garden … rolled into one. In short, a dream place to give you a boost!

Have a drink, go out to eat, party!

Come evening time, the choice of things to do is endless, but some places are certain to put you on top form, like Bouboule or the Niçois, two popular pétanque bars. A great atmosphere guaranteed!

In the space of a few years, numerous cocktail bars and other speakeasy bars have opened in Paris. Very cosmopolitan and ideally situated in SoPi, the Dirty Dick is a former ‘hostess bar’ that houses a friendly Tiki bar, direct from Hawaii! Cosier and in the heart of Paris, the 153 is a cocktail bar full of surprises, which puts the accent on sharing through the senses and invites clients to take part in mixology lessons!

Fans of sparkling and high-kicking revues should head to one of the capital’s famous cabarets such as the Lido or the famous Moulin Rouge. On stage: a high-spirited show packed with energy, especially when the dancers perform their famous cancan number! The more adventurous spectators can even try out a few dance steps backstage at the Paradis Latin, which gives lessons to teach people this dance that is a typical feature of Parisian revues.
