Fireworks displays, fountains...: the Palace of Versailles has something exciting for visitors all summer long.
The summer programme at the Versailles Estate is packed with great events! Festive entertainment, music and exceptional evening events are happening all summer, and right up until end of October 2023. Visitors can attend the ‘Musical Fountains Show’, the ‘Fountains Night Show’... , discover the ‘Versailles Festival’ or take part in a Masked Ball … All the details on not-to-be-missed festivities!
Les Grandes Eaux musicales (Musical Fountains Show)
Every Saturday and Sunday from 1 April to 29 October 2023 (except 1 May) and some public holidays (Thursday 18 May et Tuesday 15 August 2023)

The Musical Fountains Show invites visitors to stroll through the gardens of Versailles that the Sun King was so fond of. An invigorating walk past ornamental ponds and fountains, which for a few hours regain all the past glory and splendour of the court of Louis XIV, thanks to the expertise of water-fountain engineers. Waterfalls, jets and sprays of water spring forth in a crystal clear aquatic dance to the sound of music by Lully.
- Opening of the groves: from 9am to 7pm
- Music from 10am to 7pm
- Water effects (week-end public holidays) 11am to noon and from 3.30pm to 5pm. Tuesdays from 9 to 23 June 2020: 11am to noon and from 2.30pm to 4pm
- Water effects at the Mirror Fountain from 10am to 7pm
- Water display in the Water Theatre Grove: every 15 minutes from 10am to 7pm
- Bassin de Neptune Fountain Show every 15 minutes from 10am to 5pm, then from 5.45pm to 6.45pm, on weekends and public holidays. Every 15 minutes from 10am to 6.45pm on Tuesdays from 9 to 23 June.
- Final - Bassin de Neptune Fountain Show from 5.20pm to 5.30pm.

Every Tuesday from 2 May to 27 June 2023 and some public holidays (Friday 7 April, Monday 10 April, Monday 8 May, Monday 29 May, and Friday 14 July 2023)

The Tuesdays of Grandes Eaux Musicales offer the opportunity to discover the French-style gardens of the park of Versailles designed by André Le Nôtre. Groves, ponds, the great perspective... watered to the sound of baroque music.
Morning water effects :
- Grand perspective: 10.30am to noon
- Groves and basins on the south side: 10.30am to 11.30am
Afternoon water display :
- Grand perspective: 2pm to 2.30pm, 3pm to 4.15pm, 4.45pm to 5pm.
- Groves and ponds on the north side: 2.30pm to 3.15pm and 4pm to 4.45 pm.
Automatic water efects of the fountains all day:
- Neptune Basin: 10am to 6.45pm
- Mirror Basin: 10am to 7pm
- Bosquet du Théâtre d'Eau : 10am to 7pm

The Musical Gardens event invites visitors to discover preserved areas of the Versailles Estate, with its French-style formal garden designed by the landscape architect André Le Nôtre. A chance to discover groves and other features: sculpture, architecture, fountains … on a musical promenade.

At dusk, the Fountains Night Show unveils the charm of the gardens of Versailles … Lighting and stage effects artists and a group of fireworks experts, the ‘Groupe F’, create a stunning ephemeral itinerary of visual, sound and aquatic installations with a fireworks finale under the starry sky of the Versailles Estate, to the sound of baroque music.
- Opening, music and water show of the Grand Perspective: from 8.30pm to 11.05pm.
- Fireworks finale in front of the Grand Canal: from 10.50 to 11.05pm

Royal serenade in the Hall of Mirrors
Dates 2023 to be announced

Just before The Fountains Night Show or after the Musical Fountains Show, dancers from the company L’Eventail and musicians from Les Folies Françoises invite visitors to accompany them from the Royal Apartments to the famous Hall of Mirrors. A circuit punctuated with theatre sketches portraying the customs and habits of the court in the 17th century.
- Performances lasting 40 minutes: at 6.30pm, 6.50pm, 7.10pm, 7.30pm and 8pm

Special nights

In 2023, the gardens of the Château de Versailles will host two exceptional night-time events. On 23 September 2023, for example, electronic music will enliven the gardens of the Château de Versailles for an original musical stroll. The evening will be punctuated by the watering of the fountains and a fireworks display.

Costumes evenings
From 22 May to 17 June 2023

What could be more exciting than becoming a character of the Ancien Régime for a night? On May 22nd, 2023, the Palace of Versailles organizes its Fête Galante in the Hall of Mirrors, an entertaining evening of demonstrations, vintage dance classes, a ball, firework display, with everyone dressed up in period costume. For the most enthusiastic, a grand masked ball takes place on 17 June 2023, from 11.30pm to dawn!
