Paris has so many cultural venues to visit, neighbourhoods to explore and gardens to relax in that it can be hard to decide where to go. But some places are guaranteed to provide a fantastic day out for kids.
In Paris, theme parks are a great way to keep the kids entertained. The rides at Disneyland Paris are a dream come true for little ones, while the convivial atmosphere at Parc Astérix makes it a fun outing for all the family.
The French capital also has its fair share of iconic kid-friendly museums. The whole family will enjoy the fascinating exhibitions at the Palais de la Découverte, the Cité des Enfants at La Villette and the Galerie des Enfants at the Muséum National d’Histoire. The Musée Grévin makes for an entertaining afternoon outing. Budding artists will be in their element at the Musée en Herbe, where exhibitions are designed to appeal to children, even tiny tots. The recently reopened Musée de l’Homme retraces the history of human evolution in ways that are both instructing and entertaining.
And, in fine weather, there are some lovely places to go for a walk with the family. There’s the Parc Zoologique de Paris, with its lush expanses of green, while the Jardin d’Acclimatation in the heart of the Bois de Boulogne has a number of activities for children. Another very pleasant way to explore Paris is to go on a cruises on the Seine.
