The Espace Dalí: the finest collection of works by Salvador Dalí in France
Open on Montmartre hill since 1991, the Espace Dalí invites the public into the phantasmagorical world of the Catalan artist. Some 300 works are on show: monumental sculptures, drawings, objects, furniture ... arranged according to four main themes: ‘the quest for immortality’, ‘the explorer of the irrational’, ‘erotic metamorphoses’ and ‘(non) natural sciences’.
The scenography, completely renewed in 2016, highlights the themes that fascinated the artist and inspired his work, but also various media, materials and techniques used by Dalí in his creation. An extraordinary journey into the heart of the imagination of the surrealist master.
Works exhibited include: the Eléphant Spatial, Alice au pays des Merveilles, the Profil du Temps, Femme à la tête de roses, Newton Surréaliste, La Vénus Spatiale.
The Espace Dalí is open to visitors for self-guided tours, with the option of an audio guide (8 languages), or for a guided tour. Temporary exhibitions, sculpture workshop for adults, and narrated visits and creative workshops for children are organized throughout the year.

Joann Sfar - Salvador Dalí, One Second Before Awakening
From 9 September 2016 to 31 March 2017
From 10am to 6.30pm. From 10am to 9pm every last Wednesday of the month.
A prolific comic book artist accounting for one hundred or so albums – including the famous ‘The Rabbi’s Cat’ made into an animated film –, a novelist, but also a film director, with the film ‘Gainsbourg: A Heroic Life’, which won an award at the Césars, Joann Sfar has more than one string to his bow!
This time, the artist is embarking on a new project: an exhibition that pays tribute to Salvador Dalí and his world, showing from 9 September to 31 March 2017, at the Espace Dalí.
Joann Sfar, a great admirer of the master of Surrealism since his teenage years, invites the public to follow a 'drawn path' that runs through the brain of Dalí. More than 200 drawings and sketches by the designer evolve between the extraordinary creations of the painter and Schiaparelli’s haute couture models to produce a wildly funny story, infused with the freedom of expression dear to Salvador Dalí.
Some original drawings presented in the exhibition are from the new album by Joann Sfar ‘Fin de la Parenthèse' focussing on Salvador Dalí.
Please note: some texts and drawings are likely to offend the sensibilities of younger visitors.
