Description

Located on the Left Bank, at the crossroads of the 6th, 7th, 14th and 15th arrondissements, the Montparnasse station welcomes 70 million visitors a year. Trains depart to serve most of western France. It is the only one of the Parisian stations to have been built in the 20th century, at the same time as the Montparnasse Tower, in the 1960s. It has also been home to the Jardin Atlantique since 1994.

The station will eventually offer more than 130 shops and restaurants: shopping for major brands, trendy signs, original concepts, catering services using renowned chefs (Yann Couvreur, Pierre Hermé, Christophe Adam, Gontran Cherrier, Alain Ducasse...), ephemeral shops and services to make life easier for travellers, local residents and visitors to the area.

Gare Montparnasse station made history on 25 August 1944 when General Von Choltitz surrendered, announcing the Liberation of Paris at the end of the Second World War.
