Quartier de la Goutte d'Or

The district of Goutte d'Or takes its name from the wine which was produced here up until the 19th Century. Defined by the Boulevard de la Chapelle in the south, the Rue des Poissonniers in the west and the Rue Marx Dormoy in the east, today it is a popular and cosmopolitan district. By exiting the La Chapelle metro station, two unmissable establishments of the district are facing you: the Brasserie Barbès and the Le Louxor cinema. Just a few minutes on foot, the Rue des Gardes, nicknamed the "Rue de la Mode" (the Street of Fashion), offers numerous Parisian boutiques. The symbol of the district is the shop Tati, famous for its products at low prices. The district of Montmartre (Sacré Coeur basilica, Place du Tertre, etc.) is just a stone's throw away.
