Fifteen years ago, Colette was Paris’s first concept store. Since then it has given rise to many others with varied and often innovative products.

On boulevard Beaumarchais, Merci offers clothing, furniture and decorative objects as well as two places to eat and relax. Around 100 metres away, on boulevard des Filles-du-Calvaire, Bonton is a concept store for children.

At the Centre Commercial near to the Canal Saint Martin, you’ll find Veja shoes, clothes, second-hand furniture, works of art, as well as bicycles.

Paris is a landmark destination for lovers of contemporary design. French designers (the Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec brothers, Patrick Jouin, and Christophe Pillet) attract clients from home and abroad.

In the district, the mini workshop-boutique of the two designers Les Sismo (Antoine Fenoglio and Frédéric Lecourt) showcases their objects. The Marais, a hot spot for design, is home to numerous design showrooms like Byzance Home, devoted to the home, with its exclusive lines in Scandinavian design.

At Lieu Commun, the creations of Matali Crasset share a space with the collections of men’s fashion by Ron Orb. At Fleux et Pylones, you can treat yourself to practical design objects at reasonable prices. The latest trends can also be found in concept stores like Les Eclairagistes for lights, or The House Factory et Serendipity, which sells furniture and objects.
