The Jewish religion is also very present in the capital with notably the Grande Synagogue de Paris, also known as the ‘Synagogue de la Victoire’ – a wonderful Romanesque-style building dating back to the end of the 19th century. The Chief Rabbis of France and Paris are enthroned here and it is often visited by famous people. Other places of worship, like the ‘Synagogue de la rue Pavée’ are also open to the public.
