Champs-Élysées - 8e Arrondissement
Description
The exhibition Sarah Bernhardt, and the woman created the star presented at the Petit Palais recounts the career of this famous figure, who was not only an actress but also an artist. Through an impressive display of nearly 400 works, visitors can get a glimpse of the star's life in the spotlight and in her studio.
Among these, exceptional pieces from the museum are unveiled, such as a portrait of the artist by George Clairin and sculptures created by Sarah Bernhardt herself. This is an opportunity to discover her greatest theatrical roles, her activities as a sculptor, painter and writer, and to find out more about her life and her entourage, which included many artists and authors such as Gustave Doré, Alphonse Mucha, Victor Hugo or Sacha Guitry.
