Description
The exhibition Manet / Degas, presented at the Musée d'Orsay, brings together in a unique way masterpieces by two key figures of 19th century painting.
It explores the ways in which Edouard Manet and Edgar Degas are similar and different in their art, their themes, their aesthetic tastes, but also their family circles, their mutual friends and their professional acquaintances in the art world. Produced in association with the Musée de l'Orangerie and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the exhibition highlights their friendship and their rivalry throughout ther careers, and offers a window on the richness of the pictorial modernity.
A must-see event that runs from 28 March to 23 July 2023.

At the end of 2011, the museum reopened all of its entirely renovated spaces as well as some new rooms: an additional 400 m² for the Pavillon Amont, Post-Impressionist artists at the heart of the museum, the redesign of the Impressionists gallery, a new temporary exhibition space, plus a new 'aquatic' decor for the Café des Hauteurs, designed by Brazilian designers, the Campana Brothers.

- Revolving doors: a panel can be opened to accommodate a wheelchair
- Maximum 5 wheelchairs per group; groups of over 10 wheelchair users can visit on Mondays when the museum is closed
- Wheelchairs and folding chairs available for visitors cannot stand for long periods
