Description

The outdoor cinema festival ‘Cinéma Paradiso Louvre’ is back for the pleasure of all movie fans, from 6 to 9 July 2023, in the magnificent Carrée du Musée du Louvre. A selection of cult movies and previews is shown on a giant 20-metre screen. Concerts and DJ sets round off each evening's film show.

On the programme for this 4th edition:

  • 6 July: Dj set by Busy P and projection of the film Les Affranchis by Martin Scorsese.
  • 7 July: show by Madame Arthur and projection of the film Huit et demi by Federico Fellini.
  • 8 July: Corine's concert and a projection of Sergio Leone's film Once Upon a Time in the West.
  • 9 July: A surprise DJ set and projection of the film Plein Soleil by René Clément.

Cour carrée du Louvre

Many renowned architects participated in the building of the Court Square (Cour Carrée). The Renaissance façade is the oldest part of the Louvre Museum. Its construction, decided by Francis I before his death in 1547, is due to the architect Pierre Lescot. Its decor by Jean Goujon is a homage to the French sovereign.
