51 rue de Bercy - 75012 Paris

Gare de Lyon - Bercy - 12e Arrondissement

The Cinémathèque Française is paying tribute to Romy Schneider, the first European star back in the 1970s, with a major exhibition titled ‘Romy Schneider, l'exposition’ from 16 March to 31 July 2022. Forty years after the death of the actress, the exhibition at the Cinémathèque attempts to understand how Rosemarie Magdalena Albach became an icon in the space of just a few years. Featuring Romy Schneider’s roles, her lines, her diary, her interviews and images showing her on set, this is a very comprehensive exhibition.

La Cinémathèque française

Housed in a resolutely modern building designed by architect Frank Gehry, the Cinémathèque Française is entirely devoted to cinema. It continues to convey a passion for cinema through its many resources and activities, notably the Musée Méliès, exhibitions, screenings, meetings and talks, library, and a bookshop. Georges Méliès is known throughout the world as one of the first great cinema geniuses. Matin Scorsese pays a touching tribute to him with his film 'Hugo', and the image of the rocket in the eye of the Man in the Moon is now engraved on everyone's memory. The museum invites visitors to explore the life and work of this extraordinary character, and to embark on a magical journey through the history of cinema, where magic, wonder and science fiction combine, from the first films with special effects to more recent ones.
