The exhibition space on the roof of the Grande Arche de la Défense is hosting a retrospective of the work of Daniel Angeli, nicknamed the ‘king of paparazzi’ in France and a long-time friend of the well-known photographer Raymond Depardon.

He started his career in the late 1950s. Nearly 250 of his photographs are on display from 7 August 2021 to 27 February 2022, including some images (of Brigitte Bardot, Simone Veil, Gianni Agnelli, etc.) that caused a scandal when they first appeared.

Le Toit de la Grande Arche

Inaugurated on July 14, 1989, the bicentenary of the French Revolution, the Grande Arche is the emblematic monument of the La Défense business district. It is built on the historic axis of Paris and offers a unique perspective on the Arc de Triomphe, the obelisk of the Place de la Concorde and the Louvre museum. Walkers and architecture lovers admire this 110-meter-high arch, covered with granite, the original shape of which is that of a hollowed-out cube, the opening of which could contain Notre-Dame. Temporary closure of the Roof of the Grande Arche and its activities from October 1, 2020.
