From 25 June to 03 October 2021, the Bibliothèque nationale de France et l’Opéra national de Paris celebrate the centenary of the death of Camille Saint-Saëns.

The exhibition Saint-Saëns: a free spirit is the first major retrospective devoted to the musician.

200 pieces - musical manuscripts, correspondence, photographs and paintings, objects, models of sets and costumes - bring to life an exceptionally rich career, of an immense artist with a resolutely independent spirit.

The collections of the so called "library-museum" presents the Opera house's memories covering 3 centuries. The museum holds temporary and thematic exhibitions all the year round. A permanent gallery displays paintings, drawings and small embossed scenery models.
