Storms and Shipwrecks: Turner, Géricault and Isabey (postponed)
from 18 November 2020 to 14 March 2021
Hôtel Scheffer-Renan - 16 rue Chaptal - 75009 Paris
Montmartre - La Chapelle - 9e Arrondissement

Description
Gericault, Turner, Crépin, Vernet and Isabey are amongst the most notable exponents of maritime painting. The Musée de la Vie romantique devotes an exhibition to seascapes focussing on storms and shipwrecks that were captured on canvas by great masters of the Romantic period. The paintings (including large-scale ones), as well as drawings, some by Victor Hugo reflect the power of the unchained elements of nature.
