Musée d'Orsay - Saint-Germain-des-Prés - 6e Arrondissement

Description
The time of the French Revolution shook up practices in the art world and made way for women artists. Elisabeth Vigée-Lebrun, Marguerite Gérard, Marie-Guillemine Benoist and Constance Mayer were among the women artists celebrated during that time. The Musée du Luxembourg devotes an exhibition to them and their contemporaries. The show runs from 3 March to 4 July 2021, bringing together nearly 80 works that show the conditions of the practice of art for women painters of the period.
