For the first time, from 27 February 2020 to 3 January 2021, the Musée Marmottan Monet presents the works of Cézanne alongside paintings by the Italian masters from the sixteenth to the nineteenth centuries and explores the links between them.
Cézanne and the master painters. A dream of Italy features about sixty remarkable paintings from all over the world including Cézanne’s iconic Montagne Sainte-Victoire and Pastorale, paintings by the masters Tintoretto, El Greco, Ribera, Giordano and Poussin, as well as works from the modern era by Carrà, Sironi, Soffici, Pirandello, Boccioni and Morandi.
