Du Douanier Rousseau à Séraphine. Les grands maîtres naïfs

Description

From 11 September to 19 January 2019, the Maillol Museum is paying tribute to the greatest masters of Naïve art with the exhibition From the Douanier Rousseau to Séraphine. These more than one hundred works, in bright colours, running against the trend of Avant-Garde artists, have been brought together for the first time in Paris. On show are works by Henri Rousseau and Séraphine Louis,  as well André Bauchant, Camille Bombois, Ferdinand Desnos, Jean Eve, René Rimbert, Dominique Peyronnet and Louis Vivin. A unique thematic tour to discover the subversive aspects of the works of the great Naïve masters.

Musée Maillol

The Musée Maillol presents the most important collection of works by Aristide Maillol, an artist who reinvented modern sculpture in his time. Visitors can follow an itinerary that presents a very broad panorama of his works: his sculptures, as well as his paintings, drawings, terracotta works, and tapestries.
The Musée Maillol also shows two large exhibitions per year and highlights the different artistic currents from the 20th to the 21st century, and all types of artistic expression.
