Famous French painter Edgar Degas, a realist and an impressionist, loved to paint the Opéra de Paris: the stage, the dressing rooms, the dance studio, the dancers, the orchestra, and the audiences regularly appear in the artist's work throughout his career, from the beginning of the 1860s until his death in 1917. The Musée d'Orsay is for the first time devoting an exhibition to the theme of 'Degas at the Opera' from 24 September 2019 to 19 January 2020.
