Description

The Comédie-Française is putting on a fresh performance of its cabaret L’interlope, originally written and directed by Serge Bagdassarian in 2016, at its Studio-Théâtre venue. In this experimental performance, spectators are treated to cabaret in its purest form. A woman who owns a cabaret and three male performers discuss the way homosexuality is represented in poetry, songs and opera. Performed by Véronique Vella, Michel Favory, Serge Bagdassarian and Benjamin Lavernhe, the piece has been set to music by Benoît Urbain, who accompanies the actors on the piano. This intelligent singing show offers a colourful glimpse into gay activism.

Comédie-Française - Studio-Théâtre

This is the third stage of the Comédie-Française, located in the Carrousel du Louvre and opened in 1996 by Jean-Pierre Miquel at the time. Its name is a reference to the first Moscow Art Theatre, run by the actor and director Constantin Stanislavski. Within the Galerie du Carrousel, which stretches between rue de Rivoli at the Louvre museum, this theatre has a 50-m² stage and a 136-seater auditorium. The company presents productions all season long which alternate between classic and contemporary pieces for shows lasting around one hour, starting at 6.30pm from Wednesday to Sunday.
