Description

The Château de Vaux-le-Vicomte is staging a great Easter egg hunt over Easter time. Along with the chocolate treasure hunt there will be plenty of entertainment and workshops for children and adults, including an exhibition of decorated eggs.

Children are invited to find eggs hidden by little squirrels in the formal garden designed by Le Nôtre.

Adults can join in the giant game of ‘1, 2, 3, Soleil’ and win tickets for the chateau’s Candlelit Evenings.

The programme of activities includes face-painting workshops and pony rides (pony rides cost extra).

From 20 April to 5 May, head out every day in search for the 30 golden hazelnuts hidden around the gardens to win a creative activity kit.

Château de Vaux-le-Vicomte

The estate of Vaux-le-Vicomte is the fruit of a creative and passionate mind, that of Nicolas Fouquet. To build his home, he enlisted the services of three of the greatest artists of the era: the architect Louis Le Vau, the landscape gardener André Le Nôtre and the painter and decorator Charles Le Brun. Here, they united their genius to build a model whose majesty and balance inspired King Louis XIV at Versailles and then the whole of Europe for over a century.
