From 22 January 2023, the Chinese New Year will be held in Paris. The Capital celebrates this traditional Chinese festival and sees parades, lion and dragon dances in various districts of Paris and the suburbs. Until 9 February 2024, it is the year of the Water Rabbit (or Hare). The festivities last a fortnight.
Among the activities:
- a weekend of events at the Cernuschi Museum, on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 January 2023, from 10am to 6pm*
- parade in the 8th arrondissement organised by the Comité du Faubourg Saint-Honoré, on Monday 23 January 2023, from 2pm at the corner of rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré and rue Royale
- Chinese New Year concert at the auditorium of the Chinese Cultural Centre in Paris, Wednesday 25 January 2023, from 7pm*
- Chinese and Asian gastronomy in the spotlight at the Belleville Food Market, on Thursday 26 January 2023, from 6pm to 10.30pm*
- Dragon parade, shows, concerts... in the Marais, on Saturday 28 January 2023, from 5.30pm*
- weekend of activities at the Guimet Museum on Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 January 2023, from 2.30 pm to 6 pm*
- Chinese New Year parade, exhibitions, shows... in the 13th arrondissement, on Sunday 29 January 2023, from 1pm*
- Thoiry, Lumières Sauvages, including some works by artists from the town of Zigong, in Sichuan, China, until 5 March 2023
