Description
The Prix d'Amérique is the best-known trotting race in the world. It was founded to honour the American troops' contribution in France during the Great War. This race takes place at Vincennes racecourse, hallowed ground for trotting races and a course that is famous around the world in equestrian circles. Since it was founded in 1920, the Grand Prix d’Amérique has seen 18 champion winners over a distance of 2,700 metres.
Today, this race remains one of the most important equestrian meetings in the world with media coverage in 30 countries. This elite test, followed by millions of spectators, has a total prize money of one million euros. The winner takes home 500,000 euros. The Grand Prix d’Amérique is also the chance to see an exceptional show bringing together over 150 artists. The day concludes with a great parade: spectators can cheer on the 18 competitors and also the mounted Lances of the Republican Guard.
