Description

The Bon Marché Rive Gauche is decking itself out in its finest decorations for the holiday season. Children and adults alike are invited to admire the store’s enchanting window displays, which have been created and installed by highly skilled artisans and decorators. The Paris department store’s windows are filled with automatons, with fresh takes on old stories and with magical, dreamlike tableaux that are endlessly fascinating for kids as well as the young-at-heart.

This year the Bon Marché Rive Gauche is going all out with the ‘mon bon sapin’ (Christmas tree) theme. A veritable forest of fir trees has sprung up throughout the store’s windows and spaces, and vintage stalls at the foot of the trees are laden with unusual little Christmas gifts: toys, herbal treasures and knick-knacks.

Le Bon Marché Rive Gauche

The Bon Marché Rive Gauche in the Saint-Germain-des-Prés district opened in 1852, making it Paris's first department store. Today it sets a benchmark in refinement 'à la française' in fashion, furniture and even food. Every year in the run-up to Christmas, the windows of this quintessential Rive Gauche store are adorned with beautiful decorations which never fail to delight everyone who passes by.
