Église Saint-Louis-en-l'Île

Begun in 1664 on plans by Le Vau, it was completed in 1726 and dedicated to St. Louis. A curious bell tower houses a modern clock that hangs perpendicular to the street, and dates from 1741. The church preserves works of art, including "The Supper at Emmaus" by Coypel (1746), a "Annunciation" by Fra Angelico, "St. Francis room" by Noël Hallé (18th century), "Saint John and Saint Peter healing a lame" by Carle Van Loo (1742).
