Église Saint-Louis-en-l'Île

Begun in 1664 on plans by Le Vau, it was completed in 1726 and dedicated to St. Louis. A curious bell tower houses a modern clock that hangs perpendicular to the street, and dates from 1741. The church has works of art, including "The Supper at Emmaus" by Coypel (1746), an "Annunciation" after Fra Angelico, "St. Francis room" by Noël Hallé (18th century), "Saint John and Saint Peter healing a lame" by Carle Van Loo (1742).
