Description

Ah, what beautiful book covers! It was in 1757 that the precious volumes, medieval manuscripts and prints of the Marquis de Paulmy were moved into the old Arsenal of François I, rebuilt by Sully. The collection expanded over the years. Declared public in 1797, it became a department of the French national library in 1934. Visitors can admire manuscripts, handwritten or printed musical scores, a collection of old magazines, and more than 7,000 volumes. Exhibitions and literary evenings are the opportunity to appreciate its treasures and old wood panelling.
