Description
Run by José Manuel Gonçalves, this venue gives the public a new perception of the arts of today. The CENTQUATRE is versatile, dynamic, vibrant, open to all and a venue for talks, meetings and discovering new things. It combines impressive architecture with modern interior spaces and offers an innovative cultural experience. All types of art are present with resident artists and festivals.
The CENTQUATRE also houses shops, a cafe, a restaurant and nearby public facilities for amateur artists and children to practice their skills.
There are regular opportunities for the public to meet artists. These are a great chance to get an inside view of an artist’s work through talks, presentations of works, readings, public rehearsals, etc. There is an admission fee for these events. The CENTQUATRE also organizes sports activities and dance classes (some of these are free of charge).
One Saturday each month, the Centquatre transforms into a dance hall for Bal Pop’ or Bal populaire, a ball which is open to the public. Expect lanterns, garlands, refreshments and a great atmosphere! From java, tango and waltz to current dance styles, the music unites Parisians, young and old, to have a drink and celebrate. Entrance to the dance is free!

Garden
Surface area: 460 m².
Situated on either side of the stables, the English courtyards are home to the Coloco group. In collaboration with local associations and residents, these architects and landscape gardeners have designed a community garden that will evolve over time. They harvest numerous plants grown by partner gardens and reorganize them three times per year.
The English courtyards are not always open.
