In order to attain its objectives, The Ecomusée works with local inhabitants to put together temporary exhibitions and animations which result from research, collecting of objects and putting scripts together. The participation of the locals is what ensures the success of the museum.
Objects are collected under different themes and a record is taken of the name of the person that would have used it. In 2008, the collection comprised of around 1,000 various objects including a Solex moped, a headscarf illustrated with symbols from the Liberation and items of clothing that belonged to a rapper.
