In February 2012, the Institut du Monde Arabe unveiled its new museum after three years of work. In a building situated on the banks of the Seine, built in 1987 by the architect Jean Nouvel, visitors can discover the diversity of the Arab world and Arab-Islamic civilisation, from its origins to the present day. More than 560 unique works are displayed across four levels: bronzes, ceramics, woodwork, textiles, scientific objects, illuminations, etc. Large-scale exhibitions are regularly organised.
