Description
Housed in an 18th century heritage site, the entirely restored and redesigned Pavillons Ledoux on Place Denfert-Rochereau, as well as in the neighbouring 19th century building, this new history museum has been created to teach the public about a shared history: that of two historic figures from the Second World War, Philippe Leclerc de Hauteclocque and Jean Moulin, and that of the Liberation of Paris.
The move to the Denfert-Rochereau site means visitors can immerse themselves in this history by visiting the command station of Colonel Rol-Tanguy, head of the Paris branch of the French Forces of the Interior, installed 20 m underground during the week of the Liberation of Paris. In order to reach and inform a wide audience, access to the museum's collections is free.

Accessibility information
The permanent collection area and temporary exhibition areas and the conference room are accessible to people with reduced mobility, in particular via a lift giving access to level -1 and the 1st floor.
The passive defence shelter is not yet accessible to people with reduced mobility.
FACILITIES
A wheelchair is available at the museum reception desk.
On the ground floor and level -1, adapted toilets are accessible to people with reduced mobility.
A 360° virtual tour on a tablet is available on request at the museum reception desk for people with reduced mobility who cannot access the passive defence shelter.
The museum's audiovisuals are subtitled (French and English) and magnetic loops are available for hearing impaired visitors.
