Description

Citéco is a Parisian cultural and educational center, unique in Europe, which aims to make the economy accessible to all. We discover that the economy is part of everyday life. Games, manipulations, images, fun and eclectic experiences, with humor and pedagogy, reveal the underneath of this particularly rich and little-known subject. A rich program consisting of evening events, workshops, conferences and thematic mediations is set up there to approach the economy together and in an interactive way. The museum is housed in a magnificent neo-Renaissance mansion, which became a branch of the French bank before changing into the Cité de l’Économie.

Visitor tools

The proposed tour, based on both heritage and economics, is available in three languages (French, English and Spanish). All digital devices used during the visit are also available in these three languages. Maps are available free of charge to help visitors find their way around the spaces. The museum's mediators are also on hand to discuss and guide visitors as they explore the museum.

Educational activities

Citéco offers a wide range of educational activities, including guided tours on heritage, the economy and sustainable development, as well as workshops on a variety of themes (creation of comic strips and banknotes, introduction to coding and artificial intelligence, etc.) to stimulate the creativity of children and teenagers aged 6 to 16. Lastly, visitors can take part in eco meetings during their visit to the museum. These discussions or games, initiated by a Citéco mediator, allow them to explore an economic topic in a fun way.

Group tour

The Cité de l'Économie welcomes all groups of at least 10 participants. Visits are divided into defined time slots and are only open to groups in the morning! Online booking is mandatory.

Under 6 years old, civil invalids and one accompanying person per person, RSA or ASS beneficiaries, holders of the Solidarity Allowance for the Elderly, holders of the Education Pass, members of ICOM-ICOMOS, Press, Banque de France staff, Pass Cité+.

Open from tuesday to sunday : 2pm to 6pm, 7pm on saturday. During school holidays of C zone, open from tuesday to sunday : 10am to 6pm, 7pm on saturday.

Late opening

Every first Thursday of the month, the Cité de l'Économie opens its doors free of charge from 7pm to 10pm and invites you to enjoy a unique evening: meetings, shows, installations, an ephemeral bar, tours of the permanent exhibition, screenings... An evening at the museum to talk about the economy in a different way.
