Description

The famous Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer designed this building, situated in the 19th arrondissement of the capital, between the Buttes-Chaumont park, the Bassin de la Villette and the Canal Saint-Martin. Other renowned architects including Jean Prouvé, Jean Deroche and Paul Chemetov contributed to its creation: Completed in 1971, it has been listed as a historical monument since 2007. From the outside, you can admire its two beautiful and spectacular undulating glass facades. Inside, concrete and wood formwork dominate. This masterpiece of modern architecture is the historic headquarters of the French Communist Party (PCF).

Opening times

Open during the week during an exhibition or event open to the public. The Espace Niemeyer, headquarters of the French Communist Party, can be visited on the occasion of European Heritage Days, the third weekend in September.
