Description
Built as part of the creation of the Opera district, the hotel immediately became the headquarters of the prestigious Jockey Club. In 1871, the famous trunk maker Louis Vuitton made it his Parisian address. The Lumière Brothers organized here in 1895 the very first public paying cinema screening, while a number of artists and celebrities such as Joséphine Baker took up residence there.
The whole new decoration, signed by Wilson Associates - Atelier Tristan Auer, combines the Men’s Club spirit from the origins to the sparkling world of Parisian. The entrance - designed as a winter garden - and the lobby immerse you into the atmosphere of a Haussmannian residence. Fireplace and art books, painted bathroom ceiling, large dressing room; the elegance and refinement of the rooms and suites brilliantly embody the codes of the luxury apartments of the City of Light.
The subtle mixture of materials and colors gives the restaurant a poetic atmosphere. Knowledge of products, mastery and subtlety of cooking methods, love of detail are the watchwords of kitchens. On Sundays, Parisians and travelers indulge in the brunch ritual around a generous buffet before venturing out to enjoy Paris and all it has to offer. Throughout the day, Le Café Scribe, a place that is both chic and relaxed, welcomes coffee and tea experts, lovers of gourmet pastries looking for seasonal and quality products.
