De Vinis Illustribus, created in 1994 by an enthusiast, Lionel Michelin, was then established in September 2004 in an old Jean-Baptiste Besse cellar at 48 rue de la Montagne-Sainte-Geneviève in Paris.
It has become one of the top names in the world of fine wines.
De Vinis Illustribus offers:
-a wide range of vintage wines
-a selection of modern wines
-items related to wine
They also offer a range of services:
-creation of wine cellars
-valuation and repurchasing of wines
More a ‘virtual boutique’ than a traditional wine cellar, De Vinis Illustribus is aimed at the general public looking for gift ideas or advice and recommendations on wine, as well as wine lovers searching for something specific or something from our collection of rare wines.
Wine tasting sessions, lead by Lionel Michelin, are regularly organized in an 17th century vaulted cellar, in French and English; from small wine tastings (2 to 3 wines) to lunch or dinner tastings (3 to 5 wines).
Shop open 2pm to 7pm from Tuesday to Saturday.
Tastings every day during the day or in the evening. Booking required.
