Sustainable development approach
With the signing of a Sustainable City Charter in 2009, CIUP Foundation and its partners affirmed their willingness to engage in sustainable development of the planet. In 2012 the realisation of the new development has been the opportunity to reflect on a comprehensive strategy for the long term. An "eco-campus approach" has been defined with the aim of improving the integration of different dimensions of sustainable development within the activities of the CIUP (existing assets and new projects) . CIUP is working on five issues: sustainable urban planning, energy efficiency, conservation of biodiversity, and waste and water management. In the"An ecological park" visit, L/OBLIQUE presents the actions developed on the site to promote biodiversity. Find out how the team responsible for the maintenance of the park has renewed its gardening practices with the application of a different space management system. Several principles of ecological management experienced on the site will be explained: weeding steam clippings clog and mulching of wood chips under trees that boosts the activity of the local soil and fauna.
