Paris hosts high-profile sporting events all year round

Paris is a sporty city with events throughout the year: football and rugby matches, figure skating, martial arts, motor sports, cycle races, etc. There is something for all tastes.

All year long, Paris’s sporting calendar features major international events such as the French Open (international tennis championship) at Roland Garros, the Paris Marathon, and the final stage of the Tour de France... European Championships (UEFA EURO 2016™, the European Women's Handball Championship 2018), World Championships (2017 Ice Hockey World Championship, World Handball Championships 2017 in Paris, Ryder Cup 2018, World Wrestling Championships 2017, Gay Games 2018), and national football competitions (the Championnat de France and the Coupe de France), as well as numerous local sporting events.
