Veloscenic: a remarkable 450 km trail
If you love cycling, come and experience Veloscenic trail! Cross 4 regions over 450 km between Paris and Mont Saint-Michel Bay in Normandy and enjoy the variety of architecture, nature and gastronomy that this part of France has to offer.
The route incorporates the regional nature parks of the Haute Vallée de Chevreuse, Perche and Normandy-Maine, as well as Notre-Dame cathedral and the banks of the Seine in Paris, the Palace of Versailles, Notre-Dame de Chartres and Mont Saint-Michel – 5 listed UNESCO World Heritage sites, and more.
Throughout the trail you will find accommodation with the label ‘Accueil Vélo’, a national certification which guarantees a quality welcome and services for cyclists along cycle routes. Our partner Paris bike tour offers 'touring bikes' for hire for those who wish to cycle along this trail.
Map of the route
Find the route and the main tourist points of Veloscenic trail by zooming in on the map opposite.
Regarding the section crossing Paris and the surrounding area, you will be able to use the bus lanes that drivers are used to sharing with the many cyclists of the city between Notre-Dame and the district of Montparnasse. After Montparnasse, the car-free ‘Coulée Verte’ greenway will take you to Massy.
For the Paris region, for the moment it is necessary to download the GPS tracks and roadbook, as Veloscenic is not yet signposted until Epernon onwards.
Ride and visit monuments for less with the Veloscenic Pass
In 2016, the Centre des Monuments Nationaux and Veloscenic have joined together to offer a special reduced rate for cyclists travelling the route!
