On this special day in the capital of love, take the opportunity to do something different to surprise your sweetheart with an evening unlike any other. 1.    A Valentine’s Day with dancing

Many clubs in Paris organize evening events on the theme of love for Valentine’s Day (which this year is on a Friday).

At the Nouveau Chalet du Lac, lovebirds can enjoy a special celebratory Valentine’s Day dinner dance. Or even dance all night long at the festival ‘How to Love’ at the floating Le Petit Bain club venue. And why not go along to the dinner and show, followed by dancing, at the Ace, the new club on the roof of the Galeries Lafayette Montparnasse? At L’International, the International Valentine's Night welcomes female djs Mila Dietrichh and Kelyboy ... There is plenty of choice if you want to dance the night away on February 14th!

And for a glamorous love-themed evening, attend the Paramour le Bal. Inspired by Viennese balls, this evening of dancing is also a fund-raiser event for the fight against aids. The opportunity to do a good deed while enjoying shows, concerts, and DJ sets in the sumptuous reception rooms of Paris City Hall.

2.    A Valentine’s Day on the water

Valentine’s Day is the perfect occasion for a romantic trip on the water, either along the Seine or Paris’s canals. And why not take this opportunity to dine aboard the Bateaux Parisiens, Bateau Alizé, La Marina, one of the Vedettes du Pont-Neuf or even the yacht Don Juan II?
   

And for a more hands-on experience, skipper your own little electric boat for two at Marin d’Eau Douce along the La Villette canal basin. And you can even pre-order an aperitif basket and a bottle of champagne on board your boat.

3.    A sporty Valentine’s Day

For a Valentine’s Day with a sporty theme, why not enter the Valentine’s Day race at Buttes Chaumont, the first race for couples to be organized in the capital, in 1996. Since then, it has become a regular event and each year the ‘Front Runners de Paris’ is run over 10 km as an individual or 5 km in a couple, whatever kind of couple you are. If you are single, come along too, the ‘Operation Cupid’ will find you a running partner.

4.    A musical Valentine’s Day (classic)

A church, candles, a piano, Chopin and Vivalidi … the perfect programme for a cultural and romantic Valentine’s Day. On 14 February in the evening, there are plenty of concerts to choose from: Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons in the impressive Église de la Madeleine or at the Église Saint-Germain-des-Prés, Chopin and Liszt at the Église Saint-Éphrem, opera Written on skin by George Benjamin at the Philharmonie de Paris … At the Maison des Océans, the pianist Éric Artz will play the finest romantic pieces by (Chopin, Debussy, Schubert …) in candlelight.

5.    A Valentine’s Day at the museum

For a little cultural outing together, Valentine’s Day is also the opportunity to visit a museum from another perspective. The Musée Rodin is organizing a ‘Love’ evening based around the famous sculpture The Kiss, and the Aquarium de Paris is exceptionally opening its doors in the evening to the public. And at the Musée de la Vie Romantique, entry is free in the evening on Valentine’s Day for the premiere of the exhibition ‘Hearts’. A must!

6.    A Valentine’s Day in the dark

An experience to try out in the evening. Either in a relaxed way at the Spa Dans le Noir where you can both have a massage together in total darkness. After this, you could try out the mixed hammam, available for private hire. Or maybe you would like to dine in the dark, at the restaurant Dans le Noir, where a meal takes place in total darkness. For a more offbeat experience, there is the Dark Valentine Night at the Manoir de Paris. This huge haunted house is plunged into total darkness for the evening of 14 February. Thrills and excitement guaranteed for a completely out-of-the-ordinary Valentine’s Day!

7.    A Valentine’s Day travelling the world

What would you say to spending the evening in India, in Russia or in Italy whilst remaining in Paris? This is possible with Valentine’s Day Bollywood at the Jaipur Café, the Valentine’s Day menu at the restaurant Petrossian, a great caviar specialist, or with the Italian Kiss Challenge at the restaurant Vapiano at La Défense.
