After the finale of the fireworks at the Eiffel Tower, visitors and Parisians head off to the traditional Bals des Pompiers (Fireman’s Ball). These parties are organized at Paris fire stations in different districts of the capital on 13 and 14 July 2020.
The traditional firemen’s balls held in fire stations across Paris and Île-de-France have been cancelled this year due to the health crisis. The decision is irrevocable, as avoiding mass gatherings of this nature ensures safety for all.
Sometimes there is an admission fee; if this is not the case then the traditional ‘barrel’ is at the disposal of the public for them to make a donation. The money collected is used to improve the working conditions of the staff.
The organizers reserve the right of access to the ‘bals’ for safety reasons.
