The Seine en vogue
When it comes to the environment, Paris doesn't just surf the wave, it sees it coming. And, since 2008, the Seine is no longer just one of the symbols of the capital, plied by the bateaux-mouches, to the enormous pleasure of tourists. It also serves as the route on which the Voguéo, the first waterway metro line, operates, adding to the options offered by the traditional metro and buses.
Passengers on Voguéo can use the same tickets as on the other means of public transport or buy a one-time ticket on board. This environmentally friendly and attractively priced little boat links Gare d’Austerliz with Maisons-Alfort (Val-de-Marne), with stops in Paris at Bibliothèque-François-Mitterrand and Bercy.
Elsewhere, the Batobus tourist shuttle continues to
offer visitors an alternative to the tourist coach circuits, enabling them to discover Paris via eight stops, after having paid a fixed fee for unlimited travel.
