From 21 July to 9 August 2008
While a large number of Parisian theatres are closed for the summer, the festival « Les étés de la danse de Paris », which features classical and contemporary dance, has been welcoming the general public to this international event in the heart of the capital since 2005. Each year, the festival focuses on a celebrated dance company. For this year’s edition, les Grands Ballets Canadiens de Montréal will take pride of place under the splendid nave of the Grand Palais.

This prestigious company, led by Gradimir Pankov, honours classical and modern ballet and seeks to make dance accessible to everyone.

It presents the pieces « Minus One », « Toot », « Noces », « Six Dances », « Les quatre saisons » and « Cantata » by the choreographers Oha Naharin, Didy Veldman, Stjin Celis, Jiri Kylian and Mauro Bigonzetti.

Exhibitions, performances and a « multimedia after-show » complete the festival programme.
