Meeting artists in their studios |

Back

The Artists’ Studios Open Days, held in spring and in autumn, are a great opportunity to see these studios and to get to know the artists (painters, visual artists, sculptors, photographers, etc.) and their work... Now, to give you the chance to develop your appreciation of art all year round, the artists have decided to open their doors to you, over and above the Open Days.
You can choose which artists you would like to meet by checking the websites of the associations they belong to – where you can also see images of their work – or by visiting the artists’ own websites.
The collectives are:
- D’Anvers aux Abbesses: www.anvers-aux-abbesses.com
- Les Artistes Associés du Père-Lachaise : www.apla.fr
- Les Ateliers d’Artistes de Belleville: www.ateliers-artistes-belleville.org
- Les Ateliers de Ménilmontant: http://atmenil.free.fr
How and when
The visits must be pre-arranged, according to a timetable set down every three months (see below). An appointment must then be made directly with the artist concerned, either by e-mail or by telephone, to be sure of his or her availability.
You will be welcomed personally by the artists, who will take time to talk to you about their work and the techniques used, and answer any questions you might have.
These visits are organised free of charge with the aim of creating exchanges and encounters in a convivial atmosphere.
They are available for individual visitors only (and not for groups).
So, as it may well be that you are invited to an impromptu cup of coffee to round off the visit, imagine that you are popping round to see a friend, and don’t hesitate to take a speciality of your region or country to share with your host!
Take a look at the timetable and the list of artists to contact below, to make the necessary arrangements.
But if you are in Paris, from 17 to 19 November, the workshops of the collective from Anvers to Abbesses will be open. So much to choose from!
