6 June 2007.
For today’s youngsters, The Who is just another 1960s band, one of the host of groups that flourished at the time. As far as they are concerned...
his English band was a temporary phenomenon on the music scene of the past. They couldn’t be more wrong: if we were to choose only one group in rock history it would be The Who.
A legendary band that symbolised the 1960s and 70s, The Who (Pete Townshend, Keith Moon, John Entwistle and Roger Daltrey) is undoubtedly one of the greatest names in the history of rock.
While they never achieved the fame of the Rolling Stones, they made a major impact on rock and music in general. Any contemporary rocker (The Velvet, Stooges, Iggy Pop etc.) will willingly cite The Who alongside Led Zeppelin and Jimi Hendrix as major influences and The Who’s line-up of songs contains many benchmark hits such as “I Can’t Explain”, “I Can See For Miles” and “My Generation”.
The Who are back in Paris for a single, unmissable concert in the vast Palais Omnisports de Paris Bercy.
The wild, stormy 1960s rockers have turned into seasoned performers who still pack a punch despite their greying temples.
The POPB expects a massive turnout for this concert, so make sure you reserve.
