The Montmartre Grape Harvest Festival is a big annual party that has been held on the Montmartre hill since 1934 to celebrate ... the arrival of wine from the local vineyards. Artists and musicians come to Montmartre for the weekend to draw visitors into the friendly, festive atmosphere of this popular village fête.
Stalls with regional produce will be set up at the event, which also features a parade, an evening of musical entertainment and a fireworks show in the Sacré-Cœur gardens.
This year’s festival is being held in honour of the iconic French singer Georges Brassens. The 2007 vintage bears his name and a number of events are being organised in various parts of the hill where he struggled to make a living on the cabaret circuit.
Established and lesser-known musicians and performers will take over venues on Montmartre hill to provide a lively programme of concerts and poetry readings.

Since 1934, the Montrmartre wine harvest has drawn a large popular gathering to celebrate the arrival of the new wine from the Montmartre vineyard in a festive and convivial spirit. Many special entertainments. This year the vintage will be named the « cuvée Brassens ». Procession, fireworks, village with local regional produce etc.
Cette année, la cuvée de ces vendanges célèbres sera nommée « cuvée Brassens » . Aussi de nombreux événements rendant hommage au célèbre chanteur auront lieu dans différents endroits de la butte, puisqu’il commença là sa carrière : les lieux musicaux seront investis par des artistes connus ou inconnus, des comédiens liront ses poèmes, et il y aura même la célébration de « non-demandes » en mariage sur la place des Abbesses par le maire du 18e ! Tous ces événements s’ajoutent au traditionnel village des régions et des produits du terroir (ouvert du vendredi au dimanche) , défilé des vendanges, soirée musicale et feu d’artifice dans les jardins du Sacré-Coeur, le samedi
