The Unesco-endorsed European Nuit des Musées or Night of Museums initiative offers a fantastic opportunity to see some culture in an unusual way: by night, and entirely free of charge! Hundreds of museums will, for one night only, be welcoming visitors free of charge until 1am. This will be a unique opportunity for people, the young in particular, to discover the rich diversity of museum collections in cities all over Europe.

The myriad exhibitions and collections you will be invited to explore will include ancient, modern and contemporary art, archaeology, decorative arts, photography, science and technology, anthropology, civil and military history, and rural and industrial heritage.

Many of the museums, while primarily exhibition spaces, will take the opportunity to offer a number of programmed events: debates, performances, readings, workshops, and much more.
